‘A Look at Drug Use’

Your editorial cries out for political courage to make illegal drugs subject to all of our laws, not just criminal. People engaged in the manufacture, sale and use of all consumer products are subject to the laws of commerce, corporation, labor, finance, health and crime-- except those engaged in drugs.

This narrow view, treating drugs only as a crime, prevents us from imposing a tax on this product. We need this tax revenue to provide funds for necessary social reforms to reduce the dependence on this form of human gratification.
