Solon Extends Race Across AMerica Lead
Paul Solon of Tiburon, Calif., took a commanding lead Sunday in the Race Across AMerica. Solon has increased his lead to about 3 1/2 hours over Mike Secrest of Scottsdale, Ariz., and is projected to complete the 2,911-mile race about midnight Tuesday.
Solon went through Grantsville, Md., at 7:06 p.m. PDT Sunday 2,558 miles into the race.
Susan Notorangelo of Harvard, Ill., is the only woman left in the race. She’s ninth overall.
The race began in Costa Mesa and will end in New York.
