Informal OPEC Session Planned: OPEC officials will meet informally next month with other oil-producing nations to review current market conditions, a Venezuelan government official confirmed. The Sept. 4 meeting is being promoted by Venezuelan President Carlos Andres Perez and will take place in conjunction with a summit of nonaligned nations in Belgrade, Yugoslavia, said Rita Blanco, spokeswoman at the presidential palace. Perez also is trying to convince his OPEC partners to hold a summit in Caracas next year.
