Encino stranded eight baserunners, including three in the sixth inning, and was defeated by Seoul, South Korea, 4-0, Tuesday in a third-round game of the Pony League World Series in Washington, Pa.

Encino (16-3) managed only four singles against Hyuk Kang and Hyun Hwang Jae, who combined to lead the defending champions into the final round. Encino loaded the bases with two out in the sixth, but Hyun relieved Hyuk and struck out Chris Garza on a 2-2 curve to end the threat.

Seoul (13-0) scored the only run it would need when Han Sohn Suk hit a solo home run off Garza (7-1) in the first inning.
