Commercial Scene : Homes to Be Added to Expanded Shopping Center

Hopkins Development Co., Newport Beach, has purchased the Boat Canyon Shopping Center, Pacific Coast Highway at Boat Canyon Drive, Laguna Beach, for $4.75 million. The firm plans to reconstruct and expand the shopping center from 27,000 to 57,000 square feet and add housing units on the second level. The architect is Morris Skenderian, Laguna Beach. Hopkins Development Co. specializes in the redevelopment of shopping centers in California in-fill and redevelopment areas.
