Lowes Hotels, Covia Join on Project: Lowes Hotels and Covia said they intended to form a joint venture called C/LAS (for Covia/Loews Automated Services) that would sell computer reservation systems to small- and medium-sized hotels. Terms of the transaction weren’t disclosed. Covia, owned by a partnership of six foreign and domestic airlines, including United Airlines, operates the Apollo airline travel reservation system. Lowes, through a subsidiary, sells marketing and reservation services to 400 hotel clients.
