Mead Corp. Sells Its Release Products Unit

DAYTON, Ohio —
The Mead Corp. announced today it has reached an agreement to sell its wholly owned subsidiary, Mead Release Products Inc., to Rexham Industries Inc. for $38 million in cash.
Rexham, a wholly owned subsidiary of Bowater Industries PLC, is a manufacturer of technical coating and laminates for non-packaging industrial applications, specialized paperboard and flexible packaging materials.
Mead Release Products manufactures silicone-coated release liners of paper and film substrates for tape and label, automotive, aerospace, medical, consumer and other applications.
