Davis Talks to Another United Union: Los Angeles billionaire Marvin Davis met with advisers to United Airlines’ flight attendants union in an effort to win support for his $6.2-billion, or $275-a-share, bid for UAL Corp., the airline’s parent. A spokesman for Davis described the meeting as “very constructive and cordial” and said Davis has no plans to seek labor concessions to finance a takeover. Davis met previously with advisers to United’s pilots and machinists unions. Meanwhile, leaders of United’s pilots union met with their advisers in New York to review their options, including joining UAL management in an employee buyout.
