Fairfax : Security at Park Labrea
Construction crews have erected three guardhouses and set up gates and fences for a new security system at Park Labrea, the vast apartment complex east of Fairfax Boulevard.
Although much of the equipment has been installed and many residents have been issued decals for their automobiles, operation of the security system is not expected to begin until November or December, a spokesman for Park Labrea management said.
The $1-million-plus program will close off most of the streets in the 4,212-unit complex to all but residents and their guests.
Residents will be able to enter by any of 11 automatic gates, and security guards will clear guests at the three checkpoints.
