Laguna Niguel : John V. Foley Named to Water District Board

John V. Foley, a Laguna Niguel resident, was named to the Metropolitan Water District board of directors.

Foley, who is a retired Army colonel, will represent the Municipal Water District of Orange County. He is one of six water district representatives on the 51-member board.

Foley is the general manager of the Moulton Niguel Water District, which provides water and sewer service to Laguna Hills, Laguna Niguel, Mission Viejo and parts of Dana Point.

Foley retired from the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers in 1976 after 25 years of service. Gov. George Deukmejian appointed him to the San Diego Regional Water Quality Control Board in 1986. foley also is a past president of the Orange County Water Assn. and a member of the American Water Works Assn. and the Colorado River Water Users Assn.

The Municipal Water District provides water service to more than 14.7 million Southern Californians in Orange, Los Angeles, Ventura, San Diego, San Bernardino and Riverside counties.
