Tribute to Pioneer in L.A. Spanish Radio
Pedro Gonzales, a pioneer of Spanish-language radio in Los Angeles, will be honored Friday at the 9th annual scholarship banquet of the California Chicano News Media Assn.
Gonzales, now 94, was the subject of a PBS documentary, “Ballad of an Unsung hero” and a film, “Break of Dawn.”
The banquet, which provides funds for journalism scholarships, will begin at 6:30 p.m. at the Sheraton Grande hotel. Tickets are $100.
