Kentucky Fried Chicken International announced it has purchased the 50% of its New Zealand operation owned by joint venture partnership Goodman, Fielder, Wattie.

The purchase gives Kentucky Fried Chicken 100% ownership of the 50-restaurant system, company President Don Pierce said.

“This acquisition will provide a strong foundation for future growth of Kentucky Fried Chicken in New Zealand,” Pierce said. “It will give us greater flexibility to respond to competition. And it will enable us to upgrade our facilities more quickly.”
