U.S. Plane Carrying 5 Missing in Europe

CANNES, France — Rescue workers searched Monday for a U.S.-registered private plane that disappeared with five people aboard on a flight from southern France to Switzerland, airport officials said.
Air traffic controllers said the Beech 58 disappeared Sunday afternoon after leaving Cannes for Lausanne, Switzerland.
Rescuers searched Monday in the Jura mountain area in eastern France along the Swiss border, an airport spokesman said.
The identities of the passengers were not released.
