More Imported Cars Sold in Japan: Imported car sales rose 39.1% in August, compared to a year ago, the Japan Automobile Importers’ Assn. reported. West German cars continued to dominate the market with 64.1% of the total sales. U.S.-made cars totaled 1,616 units; in all, 14,008 imported units were sold.
