Japanese Prime Minister Toshiki Kaifu flew to Ottawa after a two-day visit to Mexico City in which he pledged to work with Mexico to help solve economic and environmental problems. Kaifu offered financial and technological assistance to Mexico and said that Japan will cooperate in efforts to combat pollution in Mexico City. His visit to Canada will conclude a 12-day trip that began in the United States.
