Israeli troops shot and wounded 21 Palestinians during clashes in the occupied Gaza Strip, hospital and U.N. relief officials said. Fifteen of them were wounded, none seriously, during clashes that broke out when masked youths stoned an army patrol, hospital officials said. U.N. refugee workers complained to the army that soldiers stopped their ambulance and arrested two wounded Palestinians on their way to hospital. An army spokesman said troops shot and wounded two youths in the occupied West Bank but that he had no reports of injuries or arrests in the Gaza Strip.
