Affordable Housing--The Search Goes On

Share

It is estimated that there are over 10,000 homeless people in Orange County. I am deeply concerned that many people in this county and in our nation are unaware that something must be done at the national level to address this crisis, which affects every community.

On Oct. 7, a march on Washington will take place, organized by Housing Now! This march will involve housing coalitions, celebrities, the homeless and others from all over the country. Housing Now! asks that the national housing budget be restored to $32 billion annually, that the government create more affordable housing and that housing and homelessness be addressed together. I urge anyone who is interested in the housing issue to attend the march and support or create a local coalition to organize participation in the march from their area.
