Glemp’s Remarks on Auschwitz
Auschwitz is a Polish camp located on Polish soil. This camp witnessed the massacre of not only Jews, but Christians too. The Jewish Congress remarks about the holiness of the site to the Jews only are totally unacceptable to the Polish Christians who suffered there too.
To condemn the nuns who are praying is outrageous. Instead, and as Cardinal Glemp hinted, “the Jewish power which lies in the mass media” should focus on the killings of Palestinians by Jews in Israel today, not on nuns praying for Jews killed 50 years ago.
