Japan Inflation Lowest

GENEVA —
Japan had the lowest inflation rate of industrialized countries last year--1%--while Peru shot to the top of the world table with 1,722%, a U.N. agency said today.
The Netherlands with 1.2% was second to Japan among industrial nations, followed by West Germany with 1.6%. Inflation held steady in France and the United States at 3.1% and 4.4% respectively, while Canada had 4%.
