Mexico Seeks Funds for Chemical Industry

MEXICO CITY —
The country will need an estimated $6 billion in new investments over the next five years to expand production enough to meet most of Mexico’s growing needs for basic chemicals, the National Assn. of Chemical Industries said.
Association leaders were quoted by the government newspaper El Nacional as saying most of that money will be needed to expand the petrochemicals industry, which supplies the raw materials for making plastics.
