Pasadena : Reprieve for Action Center
The Consumer Action Center got its third reprieve Tuesday when the Board of Directors approved a $24,400 contract, which will finance the center for a year.
The center provides help at the Jackie Robinson and Villa Parke centers, both in northern Pasadena, for residents involved in landlord-tenant disputes, small-claims court actions, workers’ compensation claims, welfare applications and other matters.
The Consumer Action Center faced closure in July, 1988, but was rescued twice with $12,200 in city funds each time. The newest city award will pay for three part-time center employees.
