PR Firms Hold Merger Talks: Braun & Co., Los Angeles’ oldest public relations firm, is negotiating a merger with Pittsburgh-based Ketchum Communications. Braun President Larry Fisher said the company would operate as a separate unit and does not expect any layoffs among its 45-member staff if the merger takes place with Ketchum, one of the nation’s largest public relations firms. Braun, which specializes in investor relations and public affairs, was founded in 1930.
