Azusa : 67-Home Project on Agenda

The City Council will consider on Monday a zone change to accommodate a 67-home development on 8 1/2 acres next to the Azusa Greens Country Club.

On Sept. 18, the council tentatively approved rezoning the land, which developer Johnny Johnson bought from Glendora in August, from water conservation area to residential.

In addition to the $1.1 million he paid for the property, Johnson is paying for improvements on Glendora water facilities at the southwest corner of the parcel and has granted the city several easements through the 111-acre country club.

Johnson has also deeded to Glendora two 5,000-square foot parcels of country club land as future well sites.
