Barry E. Herr was named manager of General Motors’ assembly plant in Van Nuys, where the auto maker builds the Chevrolet Camaro and Pontiac Firebird sports cars. Herr, 48, had been production manager at GM’s Oklahoma City plant since 1986. In Van Nuys, he succeeds Robert J. Stramy, who was named GM’s principal representative at Daewoo Motor Co., a joint venture between GM and Daewoo Group that builds cars in South Korea.
