A 19-year-old Anaheim woman died Saturday of head injuries after she stepped from her parked pick-up truck and was struck by a car, police said.
The woman, Amy S. Meston, was thrown about 50 feet in the accident, which occurred about 12:30 p.m. Saturday in the 1300 block of Romneya Drive in Anaheim, according to Lt. Ray Welch. She was taken to UCI Medical Center in Orange, where she died a short time later.
Police said Meston was in the road when she was struck by a car driven by a 26-year-old Anaheim man who was not charged.
The accident is still under investigation, Welch said.
