Conference Set on Apartment Investments
Methods of projecting vacancy factors and the rehabilitation of existing property will be on the agenda at the third annual Apartment House Investment Conference on Oct. 31 at the Beverly Hilton Hotel, Beverly Hills.
The seminar will also include reports on recent rulings and court trends, valuations and expected rates of return, approaches to tax deferred exchanges, and discussion of the economy and its expected impact on apartment house investment.
The seminar will be presented by Alan A. (Scotty) Herd, a Beverly Hills realtor, and a panel of real estate, legal and financial experts. The 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. forum is sponsored by UCLA Extension and the Apartment House Assn. of Greater Los Angeles.
“The futurist has become more important than the analyst,” in the business of apartment investment, Herd said.
The seminar will focus on the continuing effects of tax reform, rent control, changing investment requirements, no and slow-growth initiatives, changing consumer habits and attitudes and environmental concerns. The speakers are:
