De Gaulle Honored by Libya With Medal

NICOSIA, Cyprus —
Libya has honored the late French President Charles de Gaulle for campaigning to free his country from “American imperialist domination,” the official Libyan news agency reported Sunday.
De Gaulle was the only European among 11 politicians, most of them deceased, who were awarded similar medals at a reception in Sirt, west of Tripoli, on Saturday night.
