Caliente Race Track and eight of its sports betting facilities in Baja California will reopen today after an arbitrator in Tijuana ruled against some 1,500 striking workers Wednesday night, track owner Jorge Hank Rhon said.
“We . . . will resume at 9 a.m. with the opening of the sports and (horse) racing books,” he said. “They have 20 hours to go, but we think they will return in time.”
The union’s main complaint, he said, is that wages should be increased proportionally to future devaluations of the peso.
