Assistance Is Offered for Utility Shut-Offs

Households in which utilities have been shut off or where a shut-off is threatened may be eligible for assistance from the United Community and Housing Development Corp.’s Crisis Intervention Program.
People eligible for assistance include those who are receiving or eligible for Aid to Families with Dependent Children, Supplemental Security Income, food stamps, certain veterans’ and survivors’ benefits, or whose income or other types of benefits meet guidelines established by the federal government.
