War on Drugs
So the Senate has approved more money for the War on Drugs than the House, which has approved more money than President Bush proposed. And yet everyone agrees that the money won’t do much at all to stop drug abuse.
I suggest we do as we did in Vietnam: Let’s declare a victory in the War on Drugs--in spite of the evidence to the contrary--and stop throwing our money away on a fight we can’t win.
