United Telecommunications Inc.: The Kansas City, Mo., company said net income rose 75% to $95 million in the third quarter. Revenue was up 17% to $1.9 billion. The telecommunications company credited the gains to increasing stability and continuing growth by its US Sprint long-distance unit.
