Downey : Trash Disposal Rates Raised for Homes and Apartments

The Downey City Council on Tuesday approved an increase in trash disposal rates charged by Calsan Inc. for single-family and multiple-family residences in the city.

Garbage pick-up rates for single-family homes were raised from $7.08 to $7.70 a month. The monthly rate per unit for apartments was raised from $6.11 to $6.65 a month. The rate increase is based on increases in the Consumer Price Index, dumping fees and other expenses, the council was told.
