Moody Named to Be New Brea Fire Chief
Albert (Bud) Moody has been appointed to serve as the community’s new fire chief.
Moody, who has been with the Brea Fire Department for 21 years, has been fire marshal since 1985. He will replace retiring Chief Jerry McDowell in December.
“I was aware there was a consideration of my promotion, but when I was named, I was actually surprised,” said Moody, 50.
As fire chief, Moody said he wants to establish a five-year plan to address problems of fire service in the community.
He called for “more staffing and better equipment and facilities.”
