P.M. BRIEFING : Unocal to Spend $2 Billion

BANGKOK, Thailand —
Unocal Thailand said today that it plans to spend $2 billion over the next 10 years to develop offshore natural gas fields in the Gulf of Thailand.
A spokesman for the company, a unit of Unocal Corp. of the United States, said about $1.4 billion will be capital investment and the rest operating costs. Around $930 million of the total will be spent over the next five years.
