Coadjutor Bishop Named for New Hampshire Diocese

WASHINGTON —
Pope John Paul II has appointed Auxiliary Bishop Leo O’Neil of Springfield, Mass., as coadjutor bishop of Manchester, N.H., it was announced Tuesday. As coadjutor, O’Neil has the “right of succession” to Bishop Odore Gendron, 68, when he retires.
