Ventura Announces New City Attorney
Alawyer who once served as an assistant city attorney for Thousand Oaks has been named city attorney for Ventura.
Peter D. Bulens, who is city attorney for Mountain View, will assume his new post Dec. 1, Ventura Mayor James L. Monahan said this week.
Bulens replaces Donald S. Greenberg, who said he is resigning to pursue personal interests.
In Mountain View, a city of 61,000 near San Jose, Bulens has worked as city attorney for 10 years.
Earlier, Bulens worked as a deputy city attorney in San Diego and as Thousand Oaks’ assistant city attorney as part of his 20-year municipal service experience, Monahan said.
Monahan praised Greenberg, who has worked for Ventura for 17 years, saying Greenberg has offered “an extremely strong legal and management presence” for Ventura over the years.
