BankAmerica Corp.: The San Francisco banking company earned $254 million in the third quarter, up 34%. BankAmerica, parent of Bank of America, California’s largest bank, cited growth in consumer and home loans. It also said its credit losses were low in the quarter and that expenses are being effectively controlled.
