From Times Staff and Wire Reports

A court in Athens refused to release on bail a Palestinian guerrilla wanted by the United States in the bombing of a Pan American airliner. A three-member appeals court said that Mohammed Rashid, 34, should remain in prison until the Justice Ministry rules on a U.S. extradition request. A ruling is expected after a new government emerges from elections on Nov. 5. The United States wants to try Rashid for alleged involvement in a midair blast aboard a Pan American airliner in 1982 that killed one passenger and injured 15.
