Soviet Wins All-Around at World Gym Meet
Igor Korobchinsky of the Soviet Union won the gold medal in the men’s all-around competition Thursday at the World Gymnastics Championships in Stuttgart, West Germany.
The 19-year-old Soviet was awarded a perfect 10 in the vault to add his first world title to the European all-around title he won in May.
The silver medal went to another Soviet, Valery Mogilniy, who had a perfect score on the pommel horse.
Lance Ringnald was the top American, coming in 29th among 36 gymnasts.
