WORLD : Chinese Exiles Plan Fax Flood
Chinese exiles worldwide plan to flood fax machines across China this week with pro-democracy appeals, the French backers of the campaign said today.
Dissidents and their supporters in Europe, the United States and South America will transmit the appeals Thursday to 5,200 telefax numbers listed for hotels, universities, embassies and companies in China, the French magazine Actuel said.
Simultaneously, publications in 15 nations from Britain to Brazil will also fax the texts drafted by the Front for Democratic China, the campaign backers said.
