Mortgage Investments Plus Inc.: The Newport Beach-based equity real estate investment trust reported consolidated net income increased to $1.5 million for the third quarter ended Sept. 20, compared to net income of $1.2 million for the same 1988 quarter. Consolidated net income for the first nine months of 1989 increased to $3.7 million, compared to $3 million for the same period of 1988. The increases are primarily the result of higher net rental income and lower joint-venture losses.
