WORLD IN BRIEF : HONDURAS : Explosion Reported Before Jet Crash

A flight attendant said something exploded on a Honduran jetliner shortly before it crashed south of Tegucigalpa, killing 131 people, a Honduran newspaper reported. “The pilot announced he was going to descend,” attendant Giomar Lizzeth Nunez, 28, told La Tribuna. “We were two minutes from the airport. . . . There was an explosion. The emergency door came off toward the inside. . . .”
