Mobil to Cut 400 Employees at Unit: Mobil Corp. said a previously announced reorganization of its U.S. operations would involve the reduction of about 400 employees in its Mobil Exploration & Producing affiliate, which employs 5,000 nationwide. The company said the biggest reduction would be at its Denver office, which will lose 105 of its 430 staff members. Offices in Dallas, Houston, New Orleans and Midland, Tex., will also lose workers, said Mobil spokesman John Lord, while offices in Bakersfield; Liberal, Kan., and Oklahoma City will gain some.
