NATION IN BRIEF : PENNSYLVANIA : 4th Riot in a Week Rocks Prison System

In the fourth major uprising at three Pennsylvania prisons in less than a week, officials clamped a complete lock-down on Holmesburg Prison near Philadelphia following a four-hour riot that left some 150 inmates and guards injured. The State Correctional Institution at Camp Hill in Harrisburg and the state prison in Huntingdon were scenes of violent riots last week, two of them at Camp Hill. Holmesburg guards stormed the darkened I-block, battling some 120 inmates who had armed themselves with handmade weapons and barricaded the cellblock.
