Riots troops used tear gas and water cannon to drive off thousands of Ferdinand E. Marcos supporters who massed at national police headquarters in Manila to demand that the ex-president's body be returned to the Philippines for burial. Marcos was forced into exile in February, 1986, and died in Hawaii on Sept. 28 at age 72. President Corazon Aquino has refused to allow his body to be brought back to the Philippines.
