Fall at 60 M.P.H. Lands Skydiver in Hospital

FRANKFORT, Ind. —
A skydiver practicing over Municipal Airport here was seriously injured when his main parachute failed and he hit the ground at 60 m.p.h., authorities said.
Steven Kivett, 41, was taken to Methodist Hospital in Indianapolis, where his condition was described as serious but stable. Before the accident Sunday, he was practicing a stunt that involved using a small chute to give the illusion of free fall. The diver later opens the main chute for returning to the ground.
