La Habra Heights : 136 Homes, Golf Course Planned in Powder Canyon
Developers of Powder Canyon Country Club, the largest proposed project ever considered in La Habra Heights, have submited their specific plan to city officials.
The plan calls for development of 545 acres near Fullerton Road and Skyline Drive. When completed, about 136 homes will surround a 6,800-yard par-71 golf course.
City officials will review the plan and discuss the issue at a public hearing, possibly in December.
Don Miller, president of Sequoia Real Estate, said nearly 65% of the land will remain open. “Our company’s priorities are to maintain the rural character of the city and to protect the most significant ecological resources of Powder Canyon by preserving the scenic beauty and natural wildlife indigenous to the area,” he said.
