Tijuana
A 27-year-old Tijuana man who was among the seven inmates to escape Nov. 5 from the County Jail in El Cajon has been arrested by Mexican authorities, a Sheriff’s Department spokesman said Wednesday.
Pedro Perez, who also goes by Jorge Garcia, was picked up Friday by Baja California Judicial Police when he tried to enter Mexico at the San Ysidro checkpoint, Sheriff’s Deputy George Gardner said.
Perez, the fourth inmate to be recaptured, was being held Wednesday in Tijuana. Since Perez is a citizen of Mexico, San Diego authorities do not know if he will be returned to them. Perez was being held in El Cajon in connection with burglary and theft charges.
