Children’s Museum Will Open Wing
The Children’s Museum at La Habra will celebrate its 12th birthday, Dec. 2, with the opening of its 8,000-square-foot new wing. The opening ceremony will be held at 10 a.m., and visitors will be admitted free all day, with the added inducements of refreshments and entertainment.
The $500,000 addition, which triples the size of the museum, includes permanent exhibits dealing with science and theater, a preschool play park, multipurpose room, gift shop, office space, restrooms, and a new entrance and lobby.
Construction costs, in addition to $200,000 for exhibits, equipment and first-year operating expenses, were raised largely through private contributions and grants.
Regular hours at the museum, at 301 S. Euclid St. in La Habra, are 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Saturday. Admission is $1.50 for children 2 to 16 and senior citizens, $2 for adults. Children under 2 are admitted free.
Reservations are required for groups of 10 or more. Information: (213) 905-9793.
