Masked Assailants Beat Arab Woman to Death in Gaza Strip
Masked assailants stabbed and beat an Arab woman to death Saturday, hospital officials said. Palestinian reporters in the Gaza Strip said she was suspected of immoral behavior and of providing assistance to Israeli authorities.
The hospital officials identified the woman as 40-year-old Atiyat Inajar and said she died of her wounds at Nasser Hospital in the Israeli-occupied Gaza Strip town of Khan Yunis.
The Israeli military command confirmed the death and said the woman’s death is under investigation.
Separately, Arab doctors said troops opened fire to disperse stone-throwing Palestinian youths in the Gaza village of Beit Hanoun and the Shati refugee camp, wounding 11 protesters aged 16 to 23.
The army command said it had no information about the incidents.
Isa Ali Sabah, 29, of the village of Khadr, near Bethlehem, died at East Jerusalem’s Mukassed Hospital on Saturday after suffering head injuries when stones were thrown at his car in the West Bank last month. Israel Radio said that Sabah lost control of his car during the assault and it crashed.
